Yes, the leaves are nearly all down, and daylight savings time is over...which means...the SummerFlies shawl is done and ready to wear!
Pattern: SummerFlies Shawl (free on Ravelry)
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Prima, 4 skeins
Needles: Size 10
Mods: None
This is a fast knit, though those who prefer charts will not like the text-only directions. I only wish it were longer and covered more of my arms; it's a more decorative shawl, rather than providing any real coverage from the, er, air conditioning or summer evening chills. It is going to look great with my Lilly prints.
One of these days, I am going to finish my knitting projects in season, so I can actually wear them out when I'm done.
Happy summer Thanksgiving (if you are American), and may you enjoy good food, the company of family & friends, and (if you are in CT) central heating!
P.S. Having caught up on all the seasons of Midsomer Murders, I am now completely obsessed with Murdoch Mysteries from Canada. If you've seen it, what do you think?
It looks great on you! And imagine how excellent it will feel on that first warm day of spring when you don't want to take a jacket someplace with you, but want just a little something just in case. You'll think, I have just the thing...

Pretty! And you could wear it on your bike and be stylish and visible.

It's very pretty - It could also play a more "scarflike" role, and then the not covering your arms part wouldn't matter so much.
Summer flies -- so quickly.

Your shawl is so beautiful!! I love the colour and the pattern, I am sure you will wear it a lot. Do you like the new Inspector Barnaby?? I do. He was in Dinner Ladies and also The Mrs Bradley Mysteries. There were only five episodes but they were good. Have you tried The Gil Mayo Mysteries?? I love that too. MrsDrWho watches, and is addicted to, The Murdoch Mysteries, but it is on Pay TV so I don't see it. She likes it, though I have seen that the main character is a little too tanned at times, almost orange!!

Ooh, so pretty! I love the shape of the shawlette -- it really wraps around you quite nicely. I haven't seen either Midsomer Murders or the Murdoch Mysteries! I'll have to check them out.
Did you ever watch Monarch of the Glen or Doc Martin? Neither are mysteries, but I've enjoyed both. Monarch for the beautiful Scottish scenery (the handsome main actor is quite fetching, too), and Doc Martin is a bit of a hoot.

That's gorgeous! There is always next summer--something to look forward to (in NE we need central heating, too--brr). Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, too! And you have just reminded me I was going to watch the first Murdoch mystery--I think it is streaming on Netflix!

Congratulations on finishing Summer Flies! It looks lovely on you in glorious Spring Green.
I'll have to check out Murdoch Mysteries, it looks like a good knit along program.

Your shawl is beautiful! I made one from two variegated yarns and I like yours a lot better.
