The Seashore Scarf is finished at last!
Pattern: Susan Undulating Waves Scarf by Laura Nelkin
Yarn: Fleece Artist Woolie Silk 3 ply in Seashore, 1 skein
Needles: Size 6
Approx. size: 7" x 56"
Three packages of beads
I'm embarrassed to admit it took me a little less than two years to finish this scarf. It was my only beaded project besides the knitted ornaments, and at first, following the chart was slow-going. After the pattern clicked, I didn't need the chart anymore, and so the project became a little tedious. I put it aside to work on other things...you know how that goes.
Knitting this scarf taught me that I prefer reversible patterns. Even though I have 17 pattern repeats instead of 14, the scarf is not long enough to loop around the neck, as in the first photo. The backside is going to show at some point. If you knit this, make sure you have enough yarn for the length of scarf you prefer. For those that are sensitive to things like this, I should note that the beads may make the scarf heavy around your neck. For these reasons, I'm not sure how much wear this scarf will actually get, but I did learn a lot during the process.
And now, to the next UFOs on my list! Have a great weekend!
The scarf is so pretty, a perfect match of yarn, color, pattern, and beads. Congratulations on one goal down!

The scarf is very pretty - but, I can see what you mean about it might be heavy around the neck. It is a lot of beads...
One UFO down - and what's next???

The detail of the beads is just so beautiful, and the pattern is lovely. I hope you do get to wear it, because it is so pretty!!

Yay! So glad you were able to finish an older FO from your knitting bag. I hope you have a chance to wear it soon!

It looks stunning. And after two years it must feel awesome to get it done. I am sorry that it will not get that much wear, cause is a so pretty. But I also find it hard to wear scarves that do not loop around.

The scarf looks beautiful! It's great that you learned a lot from the project, which is valuable, even if you don't wear the scarf much.

Beautiful job! I'm impressed that you were able to knit with all of those beads - I'm not sure I would have the patience!

Wow--that looks like a lot of work! Thanks for the tip about the beads adding weight. That would not have occurred to me! Congratulations on finishing such a complex project. :-)

Very pretty. I knew you'd get it done before the end of winter.

Wow - that is beautiful! I've never incorporated beads into any of my projects before. Was it difficult to do?
