As we get closer to the date of the Pedal for Paws charity ride, Oct. 2, my "to-do" list is taking over my life. It's so exciting to see things come together, but it hasn't left me as much time for knitting as I would like. Then I had a little roller skating accident last Wednesday, and my left wrist and arm are still very sore.
I'm accepting I'm just not going to finish my pink skirt in time to wear for Labor Day. Even if I finished the skirt, the embroidery/crochet trim etc. will take weeks. So now I'm trying to decide, do I keep going with it anyway, or start on some of the, ahem, cooler weather sweaters I'd like to have?
Here are some of the things I want to knit now:
1. Betty Sweater
Yarn for Terese
I have the yarn for Sophie, above, in the same color
4.Cropped cardigan in Vogue Spring/Summer '10
no stash yarn for this, but I can be easily persuaded to buy sea-colored mohair
Can also possibly use this Rowan Tweed for Helleborus Yoke, above
6. Heather Hoodie Vest or Alexandra Hoodie
If I use this for the Heather pattern, I'll have too much left over
7. Katharine Hepburn or Que Sera or Lace Cardigan by Louisa Harding
I don't have stash yarn for any of these
8. Beltane Tee
Same as above, though I could really use this as a vest when it starts to get cold, and it is only Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece...
I'm still looking for a lace shawl pattern for my white and indigo dress, and I have a million scarf patterns with yarns to knit them, though I'm trying to finish my Seashore Beaded Scarf (aka Undulating Waves by Laura Nelkin). I also have yarn to make two Noni purses.
I have the hardware and also the yarn for the roses, too
Received this for Christmas last year; no hardware needed
It gets overwhelming at times -- all these great patterns to knit! Are you finishing up your summer projects, or have you already transitioned to fall?
Ooh! Make a purse. Think how fast it'll knit up and how cute it'll be once it's made.

I think the Betty sweater is one you will love to wear. I think you should cast on right away for that one =)
I am in the same boat with an injured arm right now. Hope yours feels better soon!

I hope you are feeling less sore soon. I love all your projects, and I'm sad you won't have your skirt finished. Still too cold here for s Spring transition!!

Sorry to hear about your wrist! I hope it heals soon. But the rollerskating sounds like it must have been fun.
Sophie looks gorgeous!
I say, go for the fall knitting while you're excited about it. It is such a nice feeling to dig in to a project you are really inspired by!
Feel better soon. :-)

It looks like you have some great plans for knitting, whichever projects you decide to focus on! I'm sorry about your roller-skating accident -- I hope it heals up quickly!

I think you should finish your skirt first. If you put it down you may forget where you are, your gauge could change, etc. And then you'd have a skirt ready to wear when it turns warm next spring! But on the other hand, you have chosen some lovely projects for the fall. Good luck with your decision!
I hope you will feel better soon!

I hope you are healing and that knitting activity hasn't been much affected!
I'd finish the skirt, then do the embroidery at your leisure as you start one of the other yummy projects. It will probably go more quickly than you expect.

Well if you decide to keep knitting on the skirt, you'll have a brand new handknit right away for spring. But I understand about the call of the next season's patterns. The Betty Sweater looks like a nice quick "between seasons" knit.

I'm so far behind on my knitting projects... *sigh* Maybe things will calm down in the next few weeks, though...

Wow, you have so many projects planned! Sometimes it is good just to put the previous season's project away and start something new for the new season. It makes me feel refreshed, and I do usually end up picking the old one back up when the seasons change again.

You have some great projects in the planning stage! I feel the same way; I rearrange my mental queue daily. Hourly sometimes.
