of London! A fun irony I couldn't resist. :)
Here are some pretty things I found from Target's new collaboration with Liberty of London:
Two pink and green pillows, a set of bowls, a sun hat, flip flops, a file box (in back), and some files. The gardening tools and sundresses were so cheery too, but I stayed strong!
I'm working away on finishing my current knitting projects, while dreaming of starting something very summery and girly. (Hi Dorothy!) We have had May weather this week and it feels as if someone is pouring Vitamin D and endorphins by the bucketfuls into my being. In anticipation of my favorite season of the year, when Life Begins Again, I want to knit something -- to use a cycling race term -- epic.
There is only one project currently in my queue that I consider epic:
The A-line skirt from Kim Kotary in Vogue Spring/Summer 2006.
I have wanted to make this since I first saw it four years ago. I bought the kit from my LYS last fall. It sort of scares me to death, knitting an entire skirt on size 3 needles with sock yarn, and then having all the embroidery and finish work, including a crochet hem, which I do not know how to do -- yet. But what is life without challenge, and the thrill of seeing if you can do something beyond what you thought you could do? It's like the Tour de France for me, only without the [physical] crash factor.
I need to buy new circulars this weekend, and will allow myself a swatch for this while I'm finishing the other projects. The anticipation of this skirt and the warm weather to come is so sweet it almost makes me ache.
Let the summer begin!!!
My first outdoor bike ride of the year. A little beach to keep me going!
That skirt is SO cute! Looks like it'll be worth the effort.
You're a hardcore cyclist, you are. ;)

You are indeed, a fearless knitter. I saw that skirt pattern too and loved it, but I don't have the patience to do that fine a gauge for that long a time. Good luck with that, Sponge Bog!

The skirt will be quite a project, but at least it has a variety of stitch patterns to try out - you won't just be doing stockinette around and around!

I just want spring!! It actually snowed here yesterday. We now once again have snow on the ground. There is just something so wrong about that. The skirt is really beautiful and it looks complicated. And who knew Target had such pretty things? I must check them out. Enjoy the sunshine and send some my way, please. :)

Hasn't the weather been glorious?
The skirt should be fun to make with all the different patterns and techniques to keep you on your toes.

I forgot about the gardening tools and didn't see the sunhat. . . must go back to Target!!! That's quite a haul, but it's all so beautiful.

Have fun with the skirt! And lets hear it for outdoor riding again!

Hey girly-girl! :) The skirt does look really pretty, and I think it's great to tackle something ambitious. Yay for summer (and for the spring where we can look forward to summer)!

I bought those pillows as well! That skirt looks so "you". Who cares how long it takes -- if you get tired of it, you can take a break -- it's so unique, it'll be timeless, whenever you finish it. Hurray for epic knitting!

LOVE the skirt! Does making it from sock yarn mean that the butt won't get all droopy from sitting in it?

Yay! Liberty of London! What fun things.
And that skirt will be crazy amazing. Can't wait to see!

Thanks for dropping by with suggestions. We do make up themed baskets by combining donations from multiple sources - though what we shall combine to go with the cervical pillow my chiropractor donated, I'm really not sure... :o)
