Last night I wound the first of the two ribbon skeins into a ball for my Tour de France KAL project.
It is so cool that the needle color coordinates with the ribbon! I hope the ribbon doesn't slip off the plastic needles too easily.
The ball band specified putting the yarn on a swift, but winding it by hand. I don't have a swift, so I did put it on the back of the chair. I'm not exactly sure how it was skeined, as it tangled horribly. Thankfully, the slipperyness kept it from knotting up. With a lot of time and patience, I finished winding just before I went to sleep (midnight). I'll save the second skein for another time. :)
Packing continues. Charlie and Tim have been patient so far, considering their house is full of boxes.
But watching us wears Timmy completely out sometimes.
*The cats are very funny
ETA: I had the wrong verb in the title when I posted this earlier. Excusez-moi, s'il vous plait.
Your cats take the best pictures!

GREAT cat pics! Glad to see them looking relaxed about the packing!

Hee-hee! Don't forget, it's really tiring to weigh down paper and keep it from blowing away!

LOL! Ah, boxes! But! Must be suspicious!
Also, not recommended to wind linen on a swift/ballwinder - or at least not to go to fast with the ballwinder. Centrifugal force is a terrible thing when applied to linen...

I don't think my cats would like moving. But having lots of boxes around...and paper upon which to loll about? They'd be in heaven, I tellya!

You have a fine fashion sense when you knit with color coordinated needles and yarn!!
Cat's so relaxed in the face of a packed house!

Sacre Bleu, je connais aussi, le chat de mon ami et dans le jardin et la maison!! Les pauvre chats!!!!
I apologise for my atrocious French!!! Too too clever to match your needle and knitting yarn!!! Glad the packing is going well even though it is exhausting the cats!!!

Love the sleeping cat photo! Animals can be so funny when they are all tuckered out! Good luck with unpacking :)

I'm sure the kitties are loving all the boxes; mine get in any box that is set down for more than 2 seconds!
Supervising a move is very hard work.

Packing IS tiring! Timmy is just trying to suggest what you should do next.

ribbon yarn means you are a very brave woman! i tried once and ended up with a horribly tangled mess and reached the verdict that ribbon yarn is too slick for me. can't wait to see the fo!

It is a little strange not having the whole pattern (for the mystery stole), but at the same time I keep forgetting that I haven't seen it, so I think I'm dealing with the mystery ok. I'm slightly worried from time to time that the theme will turn out to be something I won't like, or that seems temporary--someone suggested that it might be Pirates of the Caribbean or Star Wars, and while I love them dearly, I'm not sure I want to knit them.

I so second and third that your cats are so photogenic. It's not fair. I'd just settle for mine being hygienic.
Cheers!

I suspected that you'd be shoe in for the Tour de France KAL... I am pondering it... looks fun, but I have so many other project started, last thing I need is another one! Especially on top of that looming Sockapalooza deadline... it'll take all month for me to stay on track with that second sock!

what sweet kitties, now just don't put them in a box!

Interesting on the direction to put the yarn on a swift but wind by hand - I haven't encountered that one. And the kitties must be in 7th heaven - they all seem to love boxes!!

Hope the packing is going well and the kitties are not helping out too much. Have a great weekend.

LOL! It's hard work holding down all the paper and boxes.
I like the color of the yarn for the KAL.

I always love the pictures of your cats. The way you photograph them really gives an insight into their personalities.
