We have finally negotiated repairs with the sellers of the home we love, and are waiting on a closing date. It should be sometime in mid-July. I have started to pack, and adopted one of Chris' bins to move my yarn.
It holds everything except the skeins for the Noni bag, which wouldn't fit. A separate box holds that and knitting books, and I have my knitting magazines in those cardboard holders. With these and my other art supplies, I am looking forward to setting up my own creative area. I hesitate to say craft room, since knitting is the only craft I know how to do. It's more about a space to think and dream and plan, whether a decorating project, some writing, or the drawing I haven't done in ages and ages.
Today I spent some time exploring Ravelry. It is going to be an amazing resource for future projects, especially when substituting yarns. You can see what a project will look like, knitted up in different colors and types of yarns . I haven't had time to post my own yarn or projects yet, but I will as soon as I can. My name there is knitseashore. Please let me know yours so I can add you to my list.
I am still working on my pie wedge shawl, and am almost at the end of the first wedge.
I've also started the headband with the pretty ribbon yarn from Yvonne.
The Project Spectrum colors are now red, black, and metallic. I don't have any yarns in any of those colors to photograph for you, so this shiny yarn is as close to metallic as I could get. The headband has a simple pattern that is a relief from the stockinette of the pie wedge shawl.
My next project is going to be one of the French Girl wraps, either Daphne or Oceane, for the Tour de France KAL. If you haven't signed up yet, please visit the site. The rules are very broad for what types of projects you can knit or crochet to participate. The important thing right now is to let Meg or me know which jersey you are working for so we can add you to the list!
I want to give a big shout out to Chris, my sweetie, who has been working late every night before and since his 210 Miles/3 days ride. He works for the state, and they cannot seem to get a budget passed before the requisite July 1. He normally doesn't have such an insane schedule, and it's been hard with him working til midnight every night, and my packing the house alone after my workday while he is there. So, to give us all a smile, Timmy wanted me to share this:
What do you mean we are taking Charlie with us?!
Aw Tim, that's not very nice!
Seriously though, I wonder sometimes if my cats think the same thing about each other.
The pie wedge looks great!

That's it? That's your entire stash? Something has to be done about that. ;-)

So cool that you'll have an art/craft studio at your new home! Can't wait to check out Ravelry -- patiently or not so patiently waiting for my invite :)

Isn't Ravelry amazing? I'm more impressed with it every day. I'm excited for you about your move. But we do need to do something about your stash! ;o)

Oh Timmy, you know you'd miss Charlie if he didn't go with you!
Moving day will be here before you know it! I don't envy you the packing though :-)
The shawl is looking lovely.

That Timmy is such a comedian! Oceane is such a pretty pattern, isn't it? I was online looking at patterns for the KAL and saw it. But I couldn't find any images of others' finished projects. Have you seen any?

Now, Timmy...you knew that he was coming. And, deep down, you would have been sad had he opted to stay behind.
Sending big smiles and happy packing thoughts over your way!

wow Timmy looks mean in that photo!
I'm very amused at your packing of yarn supplies. When Peter and I started getting ready to move we were both very concerned about our hobby materials. We ended up packing a box labeled "Running and Knitting" that held all our running (for him) and knitting (for me) books and magazines. It was one of the first boxes that we unpacked :)

I love ravelry too--I'll add you to my friends!

Oh that is an evil look that Tim is giving us!! I am glad the house is being sorted out for you at last!! I cannever move as the packing would be too horrendous, but you seem to be coping really well!! The Pie looks divine!!!!!

Um. All of your yarn fits in one bin?? Oh, I'm laughing SO hard right now!!!
Poor Charlie...It's really Tim's way of saying he loves you, in a guy cat way.

Congrats on getting things settled with the house! Hope the move goes smoothly.

So glad everything is working out for the house and you have the most important things packed. Your shawl is looking good too.

I was just thinking this weekend that I'd have a heck of a time moving all my yarn if we moved - I think I have about 15 bins of yarn and one huge bin of fabric. Good for you for being so disciplined about not letting a stash build up!!
My cats seem to have a love-hate relationship too - they are either snuggled up together sleeping with their paws around each other, or hissing whenever the other one comes near.

Your yarn fits in one bin? *faints*

Haha...shame on you Tim!
I am having a hard time staying away from Ravelry. It's amazing.

Ooh, good luck with the move.

The shawl is going to be beautiful. I can’t wait to see it completed. It will be fun to see pictures of your creative room, too. ;-) I love the picture of your kitty ~ and yes, you can almost imagine sometimes what they are saying by their looks, it’s true!

I'm afraid Ravelry will take over the world, or maybe just me, so I've been avoiding it. I still can't find the right project for the TdF KAL but I'll still looking :) Best of luck with packing!

I've never seen an animal give such a dirty look before, that's hilarious!
All the best with your move. I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

Congratulations on getting closer to your move! I really don't know how many of those bins I would have to fill. Time for a yarn diet.
I can't wait to get my Ravelry invite. Just getting my needles and sock yarn organized will be fun.

Best wishes for your impending move and I do love these kitty photos, I'm sure Timmy is thinking exactly what you've written!
