I am a few rows away from the armhole decreases now. Yay! I'm knitting both front pieces at the same time -- the right front is marked by the blue stitch marker. The pieces look too slender, and I have been afraid they would be too small, especially after seeing many comments from other bloggers who were knitting one size up. But when I held them up to one of my store-bought cardigans, they did match up (minus the button bands), so I'm hoping that's a sign of good things!!
Charlie says mrow for all your kind good wishes for his health, and purrs to your four-legged companions too! So far, he's doing well on the new medication (no side effects that I can see), and today he seemed a little more active than he has been the past few days. We're waiting to hear back about the Radiocat clinic with the iodine treatment. I will keep you posted!
Here are my answers to this week's Booking Through Thursday:
- Do you read in bed? For how long? Do you fall asleep reading? Will a good book keep you up all night? I always read in bed before I go to sleep, five minutes to two hours depending on the book. If I'm super-tired, I'll fall asleep while reading, but a good mystery can keep me awake until the early morning hours. I also read on my bed on the weekend afternoons, because it's more comfortable than our couches.
- Where do you keep your nighttime reading? Do you have a special table next to the bed? Are there many books there? Do you keep books there that you aren't reading (finished or unread)? Yes, I have a table next to my side of the bed, and C has one on his side. Both are usually buried in moutains of books. I tend to read more than one book at a time, depending on what mood I'm in (fiction or non, and colorful knitting or decorating books to flip through, and magazines too...). If I haven't read something in a while and it's on the bottom of the stack, then I'll put it away when I clean. Once something is finished, though, it goes right away into the bookcase to make room for other books.
And with that, I'm off to pick up my knitting mystery...things are really getting interesting! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!
Love the hoodie! Such a nice deep color. I'm also a "read before sleep" gal. Sometimes I doze off and smack myself with the book, but that's yet to warn me off the activity. :)

Your CPH is looking fantastic! Don't worry about the size, when you block it everything turns out fine. The blocking makes it look so nice too. My husband always laughs when he comes to bed and I'm asleep with a book on my face!

Your hoodie is looking great! I keep wondering about the size of the fronts, too. I just remind myself of the band you mentioned. :)

Looks like you have almost finished the hoodie, can't wait to see it.
I read in bed too. When I was little I used to stay at my Gran's house and sleep by the side of her bed and often she would fall asleep while reading and then the book would slip out of her hands and fall on my head! Happy memories.

I am so glad Charlie is doing well on his meds. I am very interested in the iodine treatment as my vet recommended the possibility of removing Cisco's thyriod. What we do for our "children". Your hoodie is looking good.

Debby, your hoodie looks great! The button band does add a few inches to each side, so you should be fine with the size. Keep on going -- you're motivating me to pick up mine and work on it:)

I cannot go to bed, if I can't read first. Only thing is, I'm reading about Henry VIII's court at the moment and keep having horrible dreams about it. It's worth it though.
Can't wait to see your hoodie finished.
Thank you for your offer of help on charts. I may need it some day!

I had that same worry on my CPH. I did some trial blocking on the back and the sides as I was knitting and it turned out fine. Having just that little bit of stretch in there also made the cables stand out more. The only thing I noticed is that when I blocked the fronts to the right size, it did take up a bit of my length so I think I ended up knitting 1/2" to 1" more than called for so that when I blocked and stretched width-wise, I had the length I wanted. Just a minor detail, but something I noticed with the fronts that I thought were too skinny to fit!

I thought mine was really narrow but it worked out great for me.
