I am very lucky to have such wonderful knitbloggers in close proximity to me. Last Saturday I met with the The Knittin Kitten, and this Saturday, I met with Kristen of Audioknits at Mystic River Yarns.
Kristen and I looked at all of the sample garments by Norah Gaughan that were on display in the shop. She also showed me the new Lily Chin patterns and yarns that I had not seen in person before. She picked a cute collared Lily Chin sweater pattern with a pretty French blue yarn, which you can see, along with a photo of us, on her website. I finally found the circular needle for my Central Park Hoodie sweater, and the Drops 88 pattern book.
I've never knit anything from this company's patterns before, but there are several mohair sweaters in this issue that I just love. If you've knit something from Garnstudio, please let me know if you liked the patterns, and how easy/hard those translated directions are!
After doing our shopping, we sat on the sofa and did some knitting. Kristen is so much fun to talk to because she's interested in so many things. She's a speech teacher who works with K-12 students, reads many books, rides her new bicyle, and is currently taking a tree course. Her current project is the Wedgewood Blouse from summer IK that she is making in a cherry red. I knitted more on the CPH, and am almost back to the decreases for the armholes. It was so nice to spend the afternoon together, getting to know her.
We're hoping to plan a small meet-up of bloggers soon. Since I don't have a local knitting group anymore (our group at work disbanded a while back), I'm hoping the Ocean State knitters will consider me for adoption...
Hi my friend, I´ve knitted a lot of garnstudios patterns (as I am from denmark) so if you encounter any problems let me know and I´ll see what I can do. (reading the patterns in the language they were written!)

What a fun time! That's great that you've gotten that far again on your hoodie. I took your advice (watching TV while knitting) and got some knitting done last night. I decided I should finish my vest first then continue with the hoodie.

That yarn shop looks like it came right out of central casting! It is perfect!!! I wish I had one like that near me. Sounds like a great day and a step closer to a new knitting group!

Consider yourself an honorary Ocean State Knitter! I really enjoyed meeting you and am looking forward to the next get-together.

That sounds like a wonderful day. I haven't been to that yarn shop yet. Did you like the shop?

Oh wow, I love the outside of that store. It's so inviting looking.

It's great that you can meet up with other bloggers in your area. Considering the UK is so much smaller than your much larger country, it's weird I've never come across one other blogger from anywhere near Buckinghamshire. Sometimes I think I must be the only person in the county who knits!
That shop looks lovely and your afternoon sounds just perfect.

I hope to go to that shop with you sometime:-) Glad you had a fun day with Kristen. We'll all have to get together soon! I like the look of that top on the front of Drops, are you planning to make that one?

I love some of the new Lily Chin patterns, but I can't find them in my lys! Thanks for the comment on Look Back and Cringe!
