I'm sorry the photo is so blurry -- hopefully you can see about 10 inches of the back of the Central Park Hoodie sweater. I've never knit with tweed before, and am enjoying the little flecks of color that appear here and there as I go along. The only thing I don't like about this yarn, and it is very minor, is that every so often a little piece of debris, like a bit of dried grass (!), will appear. It is easily pulled out, but I'm wondering what it is. Does anyone know?
looking good! Love cables! Don't worry about the debris. It's very common. Most wool yarn (especially if it's a small mill) will have some straw spun in it. Just pluck it out. No biggie! It's no reflection on the quality of the yarn.
Oh, and I don't know if you've found this blog, but it's updated daily: http://www.trustbut.blogspot.com/
no, Matt didn't race in Doylestown over the weekend. (It was for the big boys...pros and cat 1's with maybe a few brave cat 2's). However, one of his friends did race it: http://geronimok.blogspot.com/ and makes a mention of him being there. (be sure to scroll down to the Chris Thater race... gotta love that kit!!!)

dried grass is probably dried grass! Vegetable matter (sometimes called chaff) is very common in some types of wool yarn.
I get perverse pleasure from picking it out of the yarn.

I love finding bits of hay in yarn...I know a lot of people don't like it but I always think it's cool. Yes, I'm strange.
The hoodie is lookin good!

VM is really pretty common in wool yarns. And if it bothers you avoid Noro Silk Garden! I had more garden than silk in the batch I bought :)

Your Hoodie is really looking good so far. I like that rich blue.
I just saw you lace-edging post. Wow! That takes patience. Such thin yarn (cotton). I don't know how you can work with it. Amazing!
PS Thanks for your lovely e-mail.

I love it as I mentioned over at the KAL site, the colour is almost if not identical to mine even though it is different yarn.
It sure is a great knit, isn't it?

It's a very pretty colour. Love your yarn choice for the Hoodie. I also love knitting with tweed yarns, especially Jo Sharp's.
