One of my favorite things in all the world, white sailboats dotted on the blue sea. I've only been on one a few times in my life, but, for me, it's one of the most serene feelings...a little bit of heaven in this life. Sailing at sunset -- when the water sparkles like fiery orange diamonds on a silky midnight blue dress, and the sky is a vibrant watercolor of blue, lavender, orange, and pink -- defies description (although I've tried).
Best wishes to American knitters for a happy and safe July 4th tomorrow, and "two needles up" in honor of our friends around the world, who make the knitting community the special, boundaryless place that it is.
Happy 4th of July! Thank you for such a kind post.

Debby,
What a beautiful description of your beloved sea. Happy 4th July to you and all Americans. My daughter is the director of a pre-school here in Sydney and today they're having a Stars and Stripes day in honour of your special day.

Happy 4th July to you!!
I love the picture of the sailboat, here in Tasmania we have a lot of yachts and yacht races.

Oh, I love sailboats! I've never been on one but I love to watch them.
Don't worry about being a disappointment! I hardly read anything the first part of this year, so this is just my attempt to catch up (and, after doing the budget for last month and tallying up the Barnes & Noble trips, this reading-what-I-have business is very necessary!).
The dogs are taking a break from swimming as it's actually fairly cool right now (meaning 85-90 degrees rather than 100). We'll haul it back out when the temperature goes up.
I hope you're having a great 4th of July!

The sailboat surrounded by blue sky and water looks so peaceful and relaxing.

it is the most peaceful scene, I agree. We look forward to our vacation in a few weeks so that we can actually sail...which, by the way, is not always a peaceful scene!
